After having our youngest baby, we decided that our home would be our forever home. It’s not the biggest, but it has enough room for the four of us and it’s in a really nice location. Getting the right house, in the right location isn’t always easy to achieve. So we think ourselves lucky to have landed our forever home the first time around.
We didn’t always think this house would be our forever home though, for years we thought we’d move. That meant that we left any renovations that needed doing, as we didn’t think we should be ploughing our money into a house we weren’t going to stay in. As it turns out though, we should have started work on our home years ago. This is where we love to live and this is where we’re staying!
Renovating a house with two toddlers in the house isn’t a walk in the park, but this year we’ve cracked on and our home is looking and feeling better than ever before. We’ve had new windows and french doors, the whole of the downstairs has had a fresh lick of paint and now we’re ready to tackle the master bedroom! We left this room until last, as we wanted to get the girls settled first. Now though it’s time to make the master bedroom somewhere to relax in after a long hard day of working and parenting!
Before I decorate a room, I like to do a little research to find out exactly how I want it to look. I don’t want to do a half hearted job, as I want it to be perfect packed full with luxuries!
Here are some of the best bits I found to make our bedroom, the master of master bedrooms;
Bedside lamps –
Lamps at the side of the bed are super important for me. I love to have a little read before I go to sleep. so good looking lamp is essential! Here’s one of my absolute favourites:
The bed –
The bed in the master bedroom just has to be perfect. For years we’ve made do with a very basic bed frame, so now I want the king of all beds! I’m super impressed with this TV Bed. I would love to be able to watch the TV when I felt like it, whilst also being able to hide the TV away to create a soothing, tranquil environment.
Scatter cushions –
Now scatter cushions might not seem like a bedroom essential, but they can make a bedroom space look pretty and cosy at the same time. I love this super cute set, I’m just not sure hubs would go for the pink theme!
