The Snowman Tour 2017 – A Season to Remember

The Snowman Tour 2017 – A Season to Remember

With the nights drawing in and the temperatures dropping, Autumn is well and truly setting in. As much as I’ll miss the Summer months, there’s so much to look forward to in the colder seasons. I love hearing leaves crunching underfoot, seeing beautiful Autumn colours and as we head into Winter there’s Christmas!

Ever since we had children, Christmas has become even more magical. I’m already excited for how much fun we’re going to have as a family. One of my favourite things to do around Christmas time is indulge myself in seasonal TV, December just wouldn’t be the same without watching all of the classic Christmas movies. My absolute favourite is The Snowman. I’ve watched it for as long as I can remember and last year, for the first time, we all sat down together as a family to enjoy the classic Christmas tale!

This year however, we’re going to step it up a notch, after I recently found out about The Snowman Tour from Carrot Productions. I decided that visiting one of the many venues to see this amazing show, would be ideal way to kick off our festive season. When I checked the dates for our local venue I noticed that some were already sold out!

The Snowman animation that we all know and love will be shown on a big screen, but the beauty of this show is that the traditional tale will be accompanied by a live orchestra. Thinking about how amazing the atmosphere will be already sends shivers down my spine, it will be such a treat for us to witness their amazing talent!

Depending on the venue you decide to visit, you’ll also be treated to ‘The Bear and the Piano’ with recorded narration by Joanna Lumley,  ‘The Nutcracker’ animation by Tom Scott or even ‘Cinderella’. We’re so excited to see ‘The Bear and the Piano’, it’s something I’ve never seen before so it will be new and exciting for me and the kids!

The festive season just can’t come around quickly enough now that our girls are a little older. We have so much to look forward to and so many happy memories to make. I know The Snowman Tour is something we’ll never forget!

*We were given tickets to see The Snowman in exchange for this post. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

  1. ahhh the snowman is the epitomy of Christmas!!! i cannot wait until Ben is old enough to watch this! We have a plan for a Christmas movie with new PJ’s every christmas eve and cannot wait to put this on!
Thank you for sharing this with us at #TriumphantTales. I hope to see you back next week!

  2. I LOVE the Snowman. We’ve been going to see it at the Sage, Gateshead on Christmas Eve for the last 5 or 6 years and it is completely magical. Last year was the first year I’ve taken my daughter who was nearly 3 (I took my nieces before that) and I filled up watching her face as she was mesmerised by the film on the big screen. It is definitely our Christmas tradition to go and see it and gives me goosebumps just thinking about it ????
