*We were gifted a Baby Born Surprise bundle for the purpose of this review. As always, all thoughts and opinions are our own.

If you’ve been following this blog for a while, you’ll know that we have previously worked with Baby Born. Both of our girls love their dolls and they have learnt a lot through playing with their Baby Born set. That’s why I thought it would be fun for them to be one of the first to try out the Baby Born Surprise collectable dolls. I wasn’t wrong, they’ve loved it!

The Product –

Baby Born Surprise is a new collectable toy that brings with it a whole host of things for the girls to do. Once they found their way into the neatly wrapped packed, they were amazed to find a small doll, with its eyes still shut. Each doll was wrapped in a different blanket and came with its own bottle. It’s possible to fill the bottle with water in order to ‘feed’ the doll, something which both girls enjoyed doing.

You can ‘wake up’ the doll by wiping its eyes gently with a damp cloth. This reveals the colour of the doll’s eyes. which can then be added to its birth certificate – also included in the box. Removing the doll from its blanket also reveals its hairstyle and a magic nappy, this changes colour once it begins to soak up the water from the bottle. The more you discover about each little doll, the more you can add to their birth certificate!

The Verdict –

As soon a I explained to our girls exactly the kid of product this was, they were very excited to open it! Role play with their babies has long been one of their favourite things to do, so they couldn’t wait to add the Baby Born surprise to their collection. The ‘feeding’ and ‘toilet’ function were a firm favourite out of all of the features, especially when they realised the water revealed a pattern on the nappy.

I think the birth certificate is a great feature too, it makes it important for the girls to work out the details they need to complete it. A little problem solving makes the whole thing even more fun. As a result, I know that I haven’t seen the last of Baby Born Surprise. Our girls will be sure to add to their collection, they’re desperate to get their hands on every doll in the range!
