Men’s Fashion – Three Reasons the Hoodie is a Must Have!

Men’s Fashion – Three Reasons the Hoodie is a Must Have!

All men’s wardrobes should have staple fashion items in them. There are a couple of garments that you just shouldn’t be living without! Apart from the obvious essentials, one thing men need is a hoodie. No man’s collection is complete without at least a couple of go to sweaters! These days, hoodies aren’t just recognised as sportswear or lounge wear. They are a staple and here are three reasons the hoodie is an absolute must have;

They’re super comfortable –

One of the best thing about hoodies and sweatshirts is that they are super comfortable. If you know you’re going to have a long day, or even if you just like a bit of comfort in your life. A nice warm sweater is definitely the way to go.  Whether you invest in a pull over hoodie, or the zip up style they’re certain to be your go to item of clothing when it’s time to have a bit of down time with the guys!

They make life easy –

Heading into the Spring, hoodies are the ideal investment to make your life as easy as possible. They make travelling simple for those that have to commute on a regular basis, as they are small enough to pack into your bag. Whilst also being warm enough to protect you from the unpredictable weather of Spring! They are a grab and go garment, that allow you to do just that.

They’re bang on trend –

Finally and most importantly, you need a hoodie in your life because they are a men’s fashion essential. The practicality, versatility and coolness of them means that your wardrobe will be bang on trend for the season ahead. I mean, how many guys do you know that don’t own one? Go on treat yourself, you won’t regret it!

Men’s Fashion – Looking Good without Breaking the Bank

Men’s Fashion – Looking Good without Breaking the Bank

Before Hubs and I had children we would often spend the weekends hitting the shops. We both worked full time and so loved to treat ourselves to some new threads every once in a while! Fast forward a few years and two children later, and heading into town every weekend isn’t at the top of our priority list.

Shopping these days has to be convenient. With two girls in tow, walking around the shops and heading for a late lunch lacks the fun and relaxation that it used to. We’ve found that heading to the shops that we know will have quality clothes, without us having to spend hours searching for the wears that Hubs likes, so much easier. There just isn’t the time to peruse over scores of shops, so these days we only use tried and tested places!

However much things might have changed since our children came along, Hubs does still like to look good. So we’ve found the perfect shops that offer great menswear choices, without breaking the bank. Here are a few favourites, that you’re sure to love too!

Tesco –

This one is super handy as they stock a good range of clothing and there’s a store around every corner. We’ve found Tesco particularly useful for smart work clothes, they always have a nice cut and they certainly don’t cost the earth. Tesco is useful for when you need to get a few groceries along the way too, all items under one roof is a definite bonus!

River Island –

Hubs is a big fan of River Island, especially when looking for going out clothes. They have a good range that are bang on trend, this one is my go to store when it comes to buying gifts for him. One of the best things about this one is that is stocks everything from clothes, to shoes and even accessories. Perfect for a quick, all-round shop when you have the kids in tow!

Primark –

Primark is our go to place for Hubs’ casual clothes. They offer a great range of clothes that are perfect for everyday, wear and tear use! The beauty of Primark is that their super cheap price tag almost makes them ‘throwaway’. When you know you’re going to need clothes that may get worn out or dirty, items from here are definitely fit for the job!

Essential Winter Wears – Girls with Style!

Essential Winter Wears – Girls with Style!

I’ve always loved winter fashion. I adore getting wrapped up in furry coats and ankle boots, to head out into the crisp air feeling lovely and warm. Since I now have two girls whose wardrobes I needto think about, winter clothes shopping has never been more fun! The eldest of my two girls is becoming more and more aware of what she likes, so shopping for this little fashionista has to be done right.

One of our favourite places to shop is River Island, mainly because they have the cutest of items that our girls love, but also because their wears don’t break the bank. I’m often caught perusing their website for new outfits, ready for the next season!

Must have winter wears –

There are a few essential items on our girls’ winter wears list, that they just cannot get through the cold season without. As we usually have a winter beach break, I like to make sure that our they’re as snug as can be!

Parka coat –

I’ve always love parka coats, so it goes without saying that they’re the go-to coat for our girls. They’re just so warm and cosy, heading out for winter walks wrapped up in a parka makes for the perfect jaunt!

Wool hat –

I’m more of a flat cap girl myself, but where our children are concerned it’s woollen hats all the way. I love the beanie style hats, especially on our youngest. They look good and keep them warm at the same time. Pom-poms or animal ears are essential for added cuteness!

Boots –

Boots are an absolute must during winter. As an outdoorsy family our girls get so much use out of their wellies, but as true mini style queens they love to wear their smart boots when we head out!

Hooded jackets –

Winter just wouldn’t be the same without a hoodie. The girls and I love our hooded jackets, they’re super cosy and make them look incredibly cute!

What are your children’s essential winter wears?

Summer Wedding Style

Summer Wedding Style

Summer is well and truly in full swing and with it comes the wedding season in all its glory! It’s time to ditch the jeans and adorn ourselves in pretty dresses, ready for the celebrations to commence! Since becoming a parent though, dressing for the inevitable onset of Summer weddings has become a little more difficult than it used to be. Long gone are the days when I could grab clothes off of the hanger without even trying them on! These days a bit more thought has to go into the style of dress that I choose.

Now that I have two toddlers to chase around after, the outfits that I choose have to be practical as well as pretty. A sophisticated cut and flattering colour are at the top of my tick list when it comes to adding to my wardrobe. Mummy style is nothing if not well thought out! These days my first choice is more often than not a mid-length chiffon number that nips in at the waist. I find this style to be the most comfortable and that it’s also great to hide a multitude of sins!

I must admit though, I lose all sense of practicality when it comes to shoes. I like them pointy and I like them high. This doesn’t make running around after my girls all that easy, but a girl has to have good shoes, right? There’s  nothing better than putting on a beautiful dress and finishing off the look with some killer heels!

I’m all about accessorising my outfits too. Practicality has to rule here too though, having children means that heading out to a wedding for the day requires taking everything but the kitchen sink! An over sized bag can still be bang on trend though, out with the clutch and in with tote!

I love to wear long necklaces with bright colours, just to add a bit of sparkle to my outfit. The best thing about a long necklace is that it keeps the littlest of brood happy at the most crucial of moments, after all no one wants to hear the wails of a baby right in the middle of the ceremony!

How has your style changed since you had children?
