Welcome to #WorkshopWednesday, my weekly feature with a focus on all things blogging! Each week there’ll be tips, tricks and advice on how to get your blog running like a well oiled machine!
Setting yourself targets is a great way to focus your attention when you’re working. Giving yourself something to work towards, however big or small, gives you the drive you need to knuckle down and reach your goal. When we meet targets we feel good about ourselves and the progress we’ve made, for that reason alone you should be scribbling a few down right now!
My targets have changed dramatically since I first began blogging. My initial aim was to get my thoughts out, it was therapy. So I made myself write and every time I did it payed off. I’d lightened the load and made my life that little bit easier.
As time went on and my blog began to grow, my targets became more focused on helping other people and on building my brand. I’d learned so much that I made it my mission to pass on any information I could. My targets also began to spread onto other platforms. I set monthly goals centred on building up my numerous social media channels. I always plan ahead so that I have an idea where I’ll be by a certain time.
Setting targets doesn’t have to be daunting and it doesn’t mean that you should put too much pressure on yourself. It simply means that you’re giving yourself a little direction to achieve your blogging and writing, hopes and dreams. Whether you choose to set yourself daily, weekly or monthly targets take some time to write them down and formulate a route to smashing them. Without this direction it’s all too easy for important tasks to fall by the wayside.
Set yourself a few realistic targets today, you won’t regret it!
