Fitness has always been my thing. Pre-children I had my fitness regime down to a tee. I had structured training sessions and ate well. Running was and still is one of my favourite workouts. I love being outside in the fresh air, with my favourite music playing in the background. It really blows away those cobwebs and makes me feel on top of the world!
Having two children so close together meant that my fitness regime had to be put on the back burner, for well over eighteen months. My stamina dropped significantly, so being able to run longer distances became a thing of the past. I dream about being able to run 5K again, to prove to myself that I can put the work in and achieve such a rewarding outcome.
Over the past two months I have stepped up my fitness game – I am determined to reach my 5K goal! I’m spurred on when I think about how much being a fit and healthy mum will benefit my children.
One of the most important elements to training is eating well. Our bodies need fuel to keep going, that’s why I like to eat Sun-Pat on training days. It’s packed full with natural protein, is high in fibre and is a great source of energy for when I need it most! Best of all, it’s absolutely yummy!
Getting back into training hasn’t been easy. Fitting in workouts when Baby J and Little E need all of my attention during the day is difficult, but I’m sticking to my regime so I can turn my 5K dream into reality!
