Have you considered writing blogs in the past? Maybe you’ve started and it’s fallen by the wayside, or maybe you haven’y plucked the courage to put fingers to keyboard yet. Before The Tale of Mummyhood was born I spent years dipping in and out of blogging, but this time I caught the bug and discovered the amazing world of blogging! Blogging has so much to offer, it’s inspirational, fulfilling and something that these’s days I’d struggle to live without.

If you’re thinking about starting your own blog, here are five reasons why you definitely should!

1 – Blogging helps you develop as a person –

Starting a blog is a huge learning curve. It will help to improve your writing skills and you’ll learn how to create and manage your your blog and website. Often developing skills you never dreamed would make up your expertise.

Blogging also makes you think, constantly! It makes you see the world in a different way, finding value in the everyday that would have just passed you by before. Blogging is a great way to live in the present and to recognise the beauty life holds.

2 – Your blog could help others –

Blogging is a great way to pass on your life experiences and knowledge onto your audience. Often people turn to the internet for advice and blogs are a fantastic source of real life value. As individuals we all have different areas of expertise, passing on these skills not only makes us feel good but helps our peers out too!

3 – Blogging is a great hobby –

Even if you don’t want to make a career out of blogging, it still makes for an amazing hobby. Writing can be extremely cathartic and being part of the blogging community is a lot of fun. Blogging is a hobby that provides therapy, satisfaction and accomplishment – perfect for a bit of nurturing in our hectic lives!

4 – Blogging could help build up your business –

Blogging is a really good way to give your existing business exposure. Whatever area of work you’re in, building an online presence and promoting your business can impact positively on your productivity. Businesses need exposure to survive, start blogging and get noticed. There’s a lot of information on building up your business to be found at blogger meet ups, keep and eye out for a Conference Centre near you that may be hosting a get together. Meeting other bloggers is a great way to network and to form valuable professional relationships.

5 – Blogging can make you money –

As much as I believe that you have to love writing and blogging before you begin to earn from it, the fact is that it is possible to make a substantial amount of money from your online space. If you’re willing to put the hours in, there’s no reason why you cant grow you own little online empire!
