Newborn vs. Toddler, Five Days in.

Five days into being a second Mummy and things could not be more different this time around. It’s early days but the differences between the Baby J and Little E are massive.

The Birth – Little E took half the time Baby J took to arrive. The pain was MUCH less (it still fucking hurt don’t get me wrong)! I had an impromptu water birth and delivered in two pushes, aptly named ‘Two Push Wonder’ by my Midwife! Baby J hurt like hell, took bloody hours and I was hooked up to a monitor from start to finish!

The Screaming – Baby J is a born screamer. From the moment she was delivered she’s cried! Five days in and I’m still waiting for Little E to have a full on screaming session (happily waiting mind, no rush there Little E!). I wouldn’t change either of them but its so true when people say ‘you never get two the same’.

The Sleep – I’m getting some. Enough said. Parenting win!

The Love – I worried for months about spreading the love I have for Baby J over two children. I was naive, it’s not about spreading love it’s about more and more coming into your life. More than you ever thought yourself capable of, and it grows EVEN MORE every single day. Soppiness over, but I’m all about the love!

The Laughs – Little E started making us laugh and smile within seconds of being born. The faces she pulls and the noises she makes, her character is already shining through. Baby J makes us howl ALL of the time! We went into hospital with her a baby and came out to a toddler! We see in Baby J what we have to come with our newborn, more laughter than my postnatal bladder control can take!

Our girls are so similar (they both looked exactly the same at birth) but are so different in their own ways.

Here’s where the fun begins, let me at it!

Congratulations on the birth of Little E, you sound like you getting on really well with a newborn in the house and a toddler too. Your labour sounds easy, and great that you were able to have a quick water birth. I bet it’s lovely seeing Baby J with Little E. I wish you all the best with your newborn 🙂 Thanks so much for joining us at #fortheloveofBLOG, hope you come back next week. Claire x

Congratulations! I have five children and although my boys are so similar and my girls are almost identical, they are SO different in every way!! It’s lovely seeing their personalities develop though, and seeing them form their own individual bonds, enjoy! #TwinklyTuesday
