Thankful Thursdays…#2

Welcome to week two of Thankful Thursdays…!

This week has been a jam packed with Little E’s second round of immunisations, Baby J attended her little friends first birthday and Hubs has been heavy on the unpredictable shift work  with a couple of days spent away on training thrown in.  The days have literally flown by!

It’s been so hard to choose just one thing to be thankful for this week,  especially after attending my friends daughters first birthday.  She is cute beyond words and we all had such a lovely time!  Who wouldn’t be thankful for all those adorable smiles all afternoon, ok I had to sneak that one in!

The thing I am most thankful for this week though is the new and unexpected addition to our family.  No I am certainy not pregnant, I definitely learnt my lesson with the ten and a half month age gap last time!  Our newest addition is a budgie, a beautiful yellow and blue budgie, we call him Cedrick!

Absolutely anything animal related is right up my street, over the years I have kept rabbits, quail, hamsters, degus, frogs, fish – you name it!  I love taking care of them, and now that Baby J is toddling all over the place she comes into my animal haven.  A shed built for purposely for my animals,  Hubs jokes that they live better than he does!

I think that it is so important that my girls learn to take care of our animals and all animals come to that.  To appreciate their needs and give them happy lives,  and in return experience the joy we feel when our furry friends love us back.  Oh wait, except snakes, they are far from furry and they terrify me, eughhh!

Baby J is intrigued by our new little friend, when he chirps and flys around us she laughs and giggles, maybe he’ll pick up a bit of her baby babble?

So there we have it, this week I am thankful for Cedrick and all of his chirpy, loveliness!

How is your week so far?  What are you thankful for this week?

Love the name Cedrick, I love proper human names for animals. Our dog is called Bill & we have a friend with a cat named David 🙂 #DreamTeam

Hello Cedrick! Have to agree with you on the snake front, nothing cute and cuddly about them! #TwinklyTuesday

Hi Cedrick! So cute! I think you’re so right – the animals world has so much to teach and offer our little people. Lovely post x #DreamTeam

Hi Zoe, Lovely to pop across today. Our girls have guinea pigs Mark 2, after unfortunate passing of guinea pigs mark 1 (long story). I insisted they were responsible this time as I ended up being sole carer for the last 2…No, that wasn’t why they are no longer with us!!

Cedric looks fab! I think having a pet is a really useful experience for children, It can teach them lots.

We would love a dog but we have to keep talking ourselves out of it. I even wrote a post about wanting one but not being able to have one…Hence we have guinea pigs.

    Thanks for sharing. #DreamTeam #TwinklyTUesday

Hi, ah guinea pigs are very cut.! Bless them I hope they are keeping up their end of the bargain! Thankyou, he is very lovely and my eldest is really intrigued by him. Ah we have a dog too but have a lot of help with him as he is very big and bouncy and my children are still so small! They are much harder work though and do tie you down. Thankyou so much for reading and for your lovely comment X

What a gorgeous bird and such a fantastic name – was that Harry Potter inspired or did it come from some where else as I note it is a slightly different spelling. #TwinklyTuesdays
